Greetings!

As we draw closer to tomorrow I wanted to give everyone a brief update on the progress of our live version. We are excited to announce that we will be serving out the final update for you to patch within the next few hours. You will be able to use this version for both our Preselection and our Head Start. We are very excited with our final product and think that you will be as well! Below are the release notes for the patch you will see later today:

- Aion now features all three languages French, German and English. To select your language simply right click on Aion within your launcher and go to Properties->Language Options. Please select which languages you wish to download and which you wish Aion to display.

- After analyzing our open beta test results Aion will not feature GameGuard at launch. We will however continue to pursue ways to effectively utilize GameGuard within Aion in the future. Right now we're focused on providing players with the best possible Aion experience.
- The level cap is now level 50 (previously 45).

- Players will be able to reserve 2 character names during Preselection and create 8 characters in total once Head Start begins and beyond.

- Channels will be set to 10 instances for the beginning 2 zones of each faction. Please note that these will be lowered as characters progress and spread throughout Atreia.

they deactivate Gameguard so from now its possible to play for everyone who has problems with GG like Insayne

I think they just don't want people complaining about it around launch period, but are going to get it back online, when they think of some sort of fix. Anyway, still good news for people, who previously had issues with GG.

Update:

No Preorder Items with Head Start !!

They are unable to activate the Items with Headstart. Everyone will get these Items with Release Date.

Rofl what i need Attribute Boost Ring which is good for lvl 10 - 15 if im already lvl 25 then.
pffft.

and still no update yet. my GF try to patch the game all time at home.

While the +exp ring would have been rather nice for head start, even though it's only what? One hour out of ever eight orso? I'm happy to be getting extra free toys anyway, which can be used ages down the road when I start playing alts to try them all out too.

Wanna make my two chars... 9pm, hurry up and get here!

The launcher actually downloaded that at 400k a second! I think that's an NCSoft record!

So ... let me get this. They arent gonna activate CE items, that including the so-called title and ring that are ment to help u at lower lvls ? Damn... NC always did this kind of stupid things....

they will...just on normal release date not head start

No virus warnings here, just the normal re-allowing of permission for NCSoft's launcher and Aion to bypass my firewall.

still Server not avaiable... no update for me pfff

I got a TR/Crypt.XPACK.gen warning during install, and when denying access it happened to break installation, so I had to repeat it and ignore the alert. My bet is that my AV found the part of the update, that should serve as replacement for GG. NC will probably use the early start period as a beta for it, and if it works - leave it. If not - GG will be back on the 25th.

Ahh Marmalade, to clarify then I use Symantec and got no errors. Hope your Aion works properly, you have 40 mins to fix it if not

Ugh, I installed alright, but sadly I won't be reserving my character as of yet. My taxi is coming in 15 minutes, and I am off for a 7-hour trip to the other end of Bulgaria, where my cousin is getting married. I was going to travel by bus 5 hours ago, but there was no tickets left, so I just thought I'd get some sleep back home and install before departing. Good thing is my cousin has wirless, so I might get my names around 4-5 local time

edit: just started updating ;/ and actually updated already

Aww, weddings are always fun. Enjoy it... but tell the taxi you need an extra 15 mins, because the name "Marmalade" must be had!

Thanks. It's gonna be a long celebration, and I just hope I can keep up for the next 13-14 hours, given that I haven't slepped for two days. So all the single women are safe, at least for tonight, as I am too tired to even keep my eyes open.

I haven't read the new topics about the lack of GG, but I can confirm with almost 100% certainty that the Aion starting files now include another sort of bot protection - I started the game today, in order to reserve names, and I got tens of messeges from my AV, because the application was constinuously trying to access the memory of my laptop. I had to add Aion.bin to a list of ignored detections, in order to be able to login.
